Our Hiring Process

We believe that finding the perfect fit for your career is challenging enough—and that applying for a position should be easier by comparison. Which is why we’ve developed a hiring process designed to make your experience smooth and pleasant. Joining our team to do the important work at Pantex may require a few more hiring steps than you’re accustomed to, such as receiving a security clearance. We think you’ll find it’s worthwhile to be part of an organization whose missions and work are uniquely satisfying.

here is how we hire

Once you’ve done your research and applied for a position online, we will review your credentials and may ask to interview you. Should you be interviewed, we will notify you as to whether we would like to make an offer. If we do and you accept, there are four processes you will experience on your way to beginning your new career with Pantex.

Background Check

Once you have accepted an offer of employment, our recruiting support staff will reach out to you to complete a background information and authorization form.

Physical & Drug Test

All employees must successfully complete a baseline pre-employment physical and drug test. We'll work with you to schedule them.

Security Clearance

Before or soon after your start date, you will begin the security-clearance process, if your new job requires it. Our Personnel Security team will walk you through it.

Start Date

When pre-employment screening is complete, our recruiting support personnel will contact you to establish a start date. This is the point at which we recommend giving notice to your current employer.

Next Steps After Hire

To ensure a smooth transition to our team, Pantex has established a comprehensive onboarding process that will prepare you for success at our site. By the end of your first week, you'll meet your new teammates and begin one of the most important jobs of your career. Your onboarding will include the following information and procedures:

Mission

You’ll learn about our importance to the nation and your unique role in delivering our mission.

culture

We’ll tell you all about our organizational culture and the values and principles that guide our actions.

Processing

We’ll help you complete new-hire paperwork, select benefits options, and receive IT equipment and computer accounts.

Badging

You’ll receive initial training and your site-access badge.
